CEC counts 99% of votes

The Central Election Commission has practically concluded the count of the votes of 15 June local government elections. According to the latest press release of the commission, the votes from 720 out of total 729 polling districts of Tbilisi have been already counted and it is almost 99%.

According to the preliminary vote count, the candidates of Tbilisi mayor have gained the following percentage of votes:

Davit Narmania, Georgian Dream,  - 46,12%;

Nika Melia - United National Movement - 27,9%;

Dimitri Lortkipanidze - Nino Burjanadze - United Opposition - 12,83%.

The proportional party list elections has had the following result - after the count of the ballots from 717 out of 729 districts:

Georgian Dream coalition - 45,96%;

The United National Movement - 26,13%;

Nino Burjanadze - United Oppoaition - 10,35%.

Throughout Georgia, the CEC has counted 3,637 out of 3,440 polling districts. According to the proportional party list, the following result has been reported:

Georgian Dream Coalition - 50,74%;

United National Movement - 22,31%;

Nino Burjanadze - United Opposition - 10,29%;

Meanwhile, the CEC has announced that they have already started to investigate the video footage released by the United National Movement yesterday, which shows how a man drops envelopes of ballots several times in the ballot box. The opposition calls for nullifying the results of elections in Marneuli district, while the ruling coalition believes it was a well-staged provocation; The government pledges to investigate each fact of rigging of these elections.
