Abashidze comments on Lavrov`s statement

Prime Minister`s special representative in relations with Russia, Zurab Abashidze says no difficulties are expected in relations with Russia after Georgia signs the EU association agreement. However, Abashidze does not rule out that some terms may be changed in the sector of trade and commerce, but it cannot affect the economics of Georgia and it cannot emerge as an obstacle in these relations.
`We have finally got to the day, when we`ll sign the association agreement with the European Union and Russia will not emerge as an obstacle in this process. However, some terms in trade relations may be revised, but this cannot be an obstacle to this process,` Zurab Abashidze says.
State Minister for Reconciliation and Integration Paata Zakareishvili is not expecting complication in relations with Russia of negative impact on Georgian economics. He says the economic distance between Georgia and Russia is very big and therefore, no threats can be expected.
