NATO Secretary General, US Senators to visit Georgia this week

Secretary General of NATO, Anders Fogh Rasmussen will arrive in Georgia on September 6th to attend the ambassadorial, which will be also attended by the foreign ministers from Sweden, Poland, Argentina and Fiji - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Nino Kalandadze announced at the briefing today.
She said the Secretary General would deliver a speech at the ambassadorial; each minister will have their own schedule of meetings.
NATO Secretary General will also meet with the officers of the military battalion, which will be sent to Afghanistan within the ISAF mission.
Georgian government is also expecting two American Senators, John McCain and john Lieberman, who will hold meetings with Georgian lawmakers and political leaders to discuss pre-election situation in the country.
`With this visit, the US Senators will clearly express the support of the US government towards Georgia, including the steps made by Georgian government. We hope that within these visits, we`ll be given yet another chance to provide them with detailed information about the ongoing processes in Georgia,` Nino Kalandadze said.
