Today Mikheil Saakashvili visited the future city of Lazika which is expected to be constructed between the territories of Anaklia and Kulevi in the coastal region of Georgia. The president symbolically laid foundation to several buildings in Lazika.

As reported, a future port of Lazika will be largest on the Black Sea coast and it will employ about 2300 people when it`s finished. The likely coast of the project is GEL 535 million.

The construction of the port of Lazika is expected to finish in 2015.

The administrative building of the town has been designed by Georgian architect Niko Japaridze.

Along with it, construction of a new cathedral in Lazika is also planned, which will be a duplicate of Bana historic cathedral now located on the territory of Turkey.

Today, the president also visited the Black Sea town of Batumi, where he met with supporters. He told the people assembled in teh center of the town that all people responsible for the terrifying crime that took place in prison #8 of Tbilisi will be adequately punished.
