The journalists of the TV PIK assembled outside the parliament in Kutaisi today and held an improvised news bulletin to object to the suspension of broadcast. The crews of the TV PIK arranged a simulated studio of the news program in open air and voiced their questions regarding the reasons, for which they had to quit working.
The questions were addressed to the director general of the TV channel and its management - why the broadcast was suspended and how the funds of the company were appropriated. The journalists have also handed over their address to the candidate for prime minister Bidzina Ivanishvili, who came to the parliament while they were rallying. Ivanishvili said he would look into the details of the fact.
Other crews of the TV channel assembled outside the office of the Georgian Public Broadcast in Tbilisi. They are waiting for the decision of the GPB supervisory board, which is underway behind the closed door at the moment. The staff of the TV PIK doubt the board is discussing the issue of their television.
The broadcast of the TV channel was suspended on October 20 under the statement of the GPB director general, who accused the TV management of rough violation of contract terms.
