Achara`s Supreme Council to elect head of government

A session of the Supreme Council of the Achara Autonomous Republic of Georgia will be held at 12 p.m. tomorrow (October 28). The president has already signed a special decree.
Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili is also expected to attend the first session of the supreme council, which is going to elect the chairperson of the parliament of Achara.
According to preliminary reports, Avtandil Beridze will most likely assume the chairperson`s position.
Three candidates are running for the head of the government of the autonomous region. They are: manager of the Achara branch of Cartu Bank Archil Khabadze, founder and director of School of Political Studies Armaz Akhvlediani and member of Adjara`s Supreme Council Jemal Putkaradze.
According to the law, the president has to introduce a candidate for the government`s chairperson to the supreme council for approval within 10 days after the first session, that is no later than November 10, 2012.
According to law, the Achara government consists of a cabinet of ministers and a chairperson.
The Achara government is accountable to the Georgian President and the supreme council of Achara.
