Staff optimization intended at Prosecutor`s Office

Staff reorganization will refer to all senior positions in the Chief Prosecutor`s Office - Archil Kbilashvili announced at his first briefing as the chief prosecutor of Georgia. He said the reorganization would refer to the heads of departments and district prosecutors. As for regional prosecutors, they will be appointed individually.
Archil Kbilashvili also ordered prosecutors to suspend the cases which were under essential discussion at civil courts for next two weeks.
`I am ordering all prosecutors to suspend essential discussion of the cases, which are appointed at general courts for two weeks. This order refers to a suspension of rulings on cases an it aims at following: we are going to revise illegal rulings, which means that if years ago a person was punished illegally, they will be able to revise the issue of their conviction,` Kbilashvili said and added that during next two weeks the representatives of the prosecutor`s office would look into the charges and take adequate decisions.
