Georgian Dream calls for NGO and media pressure upon CEC

Georgian Dream Coalition asserts that the prohibition of video and photo control of the process of voting will facilitate process of election rigging. Coalition`s press speaker, Maia Panjikidze voiced the position of the political organization at the briefing today. She says the recognition of the results of the election completely depends on video control, calling on the NGOs and media to force the CEC take reasonable decision in this regards. It should be noted that the Central Election Commission is to rule on prohibition of video and photo control of the process of vote today. The draft regulation was initiated yesterday and it says that the video control will violate right of voters and the commission members. `We have presented the draft regulation, which describes how the 25-th item of the article N8 of the election code should be implemented without obstructing to the process of vote at polling stations. We hope that under the pressure of NGOs and media, the CEC and its members will show their prudence and provide transparent process of vote on October 1,` Maia Panjikidze said.
