Georgia`s State Health Insurance Program brought into operation

State Health Insurance Program has been brought into operation throughout Georgia since today. About one million more people are supposed to be insured in the country.
The number of people insured within teh program in Tbilisi will be increased by 250 thousand people. The list of beneficiaries includes pensioners, children under age 6, disabled persons and students.
Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulave inspected the ongoing process at a clinic in Tbilisi today. Gigi Ugulava visited Vera 21 medical center. He discussed with the medical staff the new state health insurance program and readiness of the center to accept teh increased number of insured citizens since today.
The government intends with the program to assist medical centers and insurance companies to get prepared for accepting the increasing number of insured citizens so that they don`t have to stand in lines to book appointments with doctors.
