Opposition figure and former film director Goga Khaindrava was interrogated by the police late last night with the status of witness. He was giving testimony to the investigation regarding the video footage and photos handed over to Georgian prosecutor`s office by the French law enforcers. The footage describes visits of the politician to fugitive crime bosses in France.
Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has released a special statement in this regards. `On the basis of materials provided by The National Gendarmerie of France to Georgian law enforcement officials an investigation was launched according to the Criminal Code of Georgia. Regarding the fact the first interrogation of Giorgi Khaindrava has been held by the law enforcement bodies today. The Main Prosecution Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia are continuing the investigation concerning the above mentioned materials. The following interrogation process of Giorgi Khaindrava will take place on September 27,` the statement says.
