Russia rules out talks with Tbilisi about occupied regions

`Russia has no intention to begin negotiations with Georgia regarding the future of Abkhazia and South Ossetia,` - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has announced after the meeting with the so-called foreign minister of breakaway South Ossetia Davit Sanakoev. `Moscow hopes that Georgia`s new government will try to normalize relations with Abkhazia and South Ossetia, however, the negotiations regarding the status of the two regions is ruled out,` Lavrov said.
