Candidate for Georgia`s Interior Minister meets SPD officers

Irakli Garibashvili, the candidate for interior Ministry of the Georgian Dream coalition met with employees of the Security Police Department at the coalition`s office today. He called the officers to stay calm.
The spokesperson of the interior ministry denied today the reports regarding possible dismissal of SPD officers.
Mrs. Salome Makharadze said although the agreement between the mayor`s office and the interior ministry on protection of municipal facilities has been annulled, none of the officers are dismissed from their positions.
Nine persons have been arrested within the investigation launched after finding the scandalous videos of human torture and sexual abuse. The videos were along weapons and drugs in a secret store in Samegrelo last week.
Vladimer Bedukadze, former employ of the prison, who obtained and released the scandalous videos of prisoners` torture last autumn, has published an open letter to majority MP Tinatin Khidasheli.
Transparency International Georgia NGO has released a special statement regarding the decision of the Georgian judiciary to free the author of the prisoners` torture videos Vladimer Bedukadze from criminal responsibility completely.
Police have arrested four persons near the Samtredia Bridge in the city of Kutaisi today. According to the police, they are suspected of drug-dealing. Currently, the detainees are passing drug test.

Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia has held a farewell meeting with the head of the European Union`s Monitoring Mission to Georgia, Mr. Andrzej Tyszkiewicz.
