Statement by Georgia`s Secretary of Security Council

Georgia`s acting President Mikheil Saakashvili will cooperate tightly with the new government, having come to the power after the parliamentary elections, on the country`s integration into the European and Euro-Atlantic structures, Georgia`s Secretary of Security Council Giga Bokeria said at the briefing today.
Before the briefing held at the state chancellery, Giga Bokeria held meeting with the candidate for Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili at his business-center.
The Secretary of Security Council said he arrived at the Ivanishvili`s business center on the instruction of President Saakashvili.
"As the Georgian president has repeatedly stated, there are substantial, serious, fundamental differences among our teams and these differences have not eliminated and probably will not in the future. As for the security of the country, protection of the country from foreign threats; for maintaining the country`s policy, the country`s aspiration to NATO, - in this case we will do our best to have tight cooperation and assist to protecting the country`s interests", he said.
Mr. Bokeria said their political team is ready to continue consultations and cooperation with the future authorities on maintaining the county`s European Atlantic aspirations.
