Ivanishvili presents full composition of new Cabinet

16.10.12 11:28

Bidzina Ivanishvili has nominated the candidates of the ministries, which remained vacant after the first presentation of the new Cabinet last week. Ivanishvili said the ministry of economics and sustainable development would be reformed after the parliament assembled and carried out legislative amendments, but before that, the minister of economics will be Giorgi Kvirikashvili. He was so far the director general of the Kartu Bank.

Kakha Kaladze, who had to occupy the position of the minister of regional development and infrastructure, has been nominated as the minister of energy and natural resources today. Ivanishvili said he was a very successful sportsman and came to politics a year ago, but he saw his progress and growth as the politician and he trusted in his abilities. In addition, Kaladze will be the vice prime minister as announced before.

Minister of IDPs will be Davit Darakhvelidze, who was the candidate of the single-mandate MP in Ambrolauri constituency. He was the governor of the same region in Shevardnadze`s government.

Minister of regional development will be Davit Narmania.

Khatuna Gogoladze has been nominated as the candidate for the minister of environment.

Nodar Khaduri will be the minister of finance, though he was earlier nominated as the candidate of the chairperson of the fiscal and budgetary committee of the parliament.
Davit Sergienko will assume the office of the minister of health, labour and social care as the previous candidate refused to take this position due to the clash of interests with his son, who currently is the director general of the largest insurance company Aldagi BCI.

The candidates of other ministers have not been changes since the last presentation: Irakli Alasania - minister of defense, Irakli Gharibashvili - minister of interior, Maia Panjikidze - foreign minister, Tea Tsulukiani - minister of justice, Davit Kirvalidze - minister of agriculture, Levan Kipiani - minister of sports and youth affairs, Sozar Subari - penitentiary minister, Guram Odisharia - minister of culture and monument protection, Kote Surguladze - state minister for Diaspora issues, Paata Zakareishvili - state minister for reintegration, Aleksi Petriashvili - state minister for European integration, Revaz Shavishvili - head of state audit office, Nodar Javakhishvili - the president of the National Bank of Georgia.
