President Saakashvili held meeting with economy ministers of Turkey and Azerbaijan being on their official visit in Georgia. The meeting was held after their talks with Georgia`s Economy Minister Vera Kobalia and the business forum held in Radisson Hotel.
The sides discussed deepening relations between the countries. They said the three countries have established an exemplary model of cooperation.
Mikheil Saakashvili said Turkey is Georgia`s major trade partner, while Azerbaijan is its one of the major investors as investments of over 800 million have been made by Turkey in Georgia.
"In result of this, plenty of jobs have been created in the country. The symbol of our friendship is the new railway, which has been almost completed and would connect Azerbaijan and Georgia through Turkey to the European railway. Turkey is becoming for us a window into Europe. We were isolated from Europe by land communications. This railway definitely is a breakthrough for us towards Europe", he said.
Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan thanked the Georgian president at the meeting for efforts for releasing Turkish sailors from Somali pirates and the country`s assistance given to Turkey during the destructive earthquake in October 2011. He also stressed significance of President Saakashvili`s initiative on travelling between the two countries only with ID cards.
The economy minister of Azerbaijan said the bilateral cooperation between the two countries comprises internal as well as international projects.
Shahin Mustafayev said the Azerbaijan-Georgia and Turkey railway would provide Europe with energy resources and the transit potential should be properly used.
