President press speaker comments on construction of new hydro-power plant

24.04.12 15:14

President`s Press Speaker Manana Manjgaladze spoke about the beginning of the construction of a huge hydro-electric power station in Georgia`s remote region of Svaneti at the briefing today.

The construction of the plant was opened by president Saakashvili yesterday. Manjgaladze underlined that the construction of the power plant would reduce unemployment in the region as 1200 locals would be employed there.

`The construction of the Nenskrahess is a Chinese investment. Such projects are the models of reduction of unemployment in the country and it is intended for our citizens that they were employed,` Manjgaladze said, adding the pre-condition of such huge projects was the reduction of corruption in the country.

Manjgaladze also spoke about two new factories which would be opened in Georgia soon. She said the glass refining factory would be constructed in Khashuri and the milk factory, which has been already constructed, would be opened soon in Tbilisi.
