NATO Secretary General to join ambassadorial in Tbilisi

NATO Secretary General will arrive in Georgia today and join the fourth annual ambassadorial, which opened in Tbilisi yesterday. Anders Fogh Rasmussen will address Georgian and foreign diplomats participating in the event. The second day of the ambassadorial will be opened by the deputy minister of foreign affairs of Georgia, Sergi Kapanadze. High rank authorities, foreign ministers from NATO member and partner states are in Georgia discussing countries integration into Euro-Atlantic structures, situation in occupied territories, issues of de-occupation, pre-election situation and country`s foreign policy priorities. Foreign Minister of Argentina Héctor Marcos Timerman will deliver a special report to the ambassadorial today. A new initiative was voiced at the ambassadorial yesterday - the citizens of Georgia will be allowed to travel to the Schengen member states without visas.
Attorneys of the UNM secretary general Vano Merabishvili and president`s representative to the Kakheti Region will appeal the ruling of the Kutaisi city court by 3 p.m. today.
Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili has confirmed that the detention of former Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili was briefly discussed at the meeting with diplomatic corps today.
