Armed group member detained in Lopota Gorge, Georgia08.09.12 19:26One of the members of the armed group, which was detected at Dagestan sector of the Georgian-Russian border on August 29, 2012, was detained today, the Georgian Interior Ministry reports. The statement released by the ministry says: "The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has detained one of the members of the armed group, Akhmet Chataev in Lopota gorge who is the citizen of Russian Federation from north Caucasus. "The detained person was wounded and he was rendered the relevant medical assistance. At present his life is not in a danger. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia continues the special operation at Lopota gorge." Two officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, a military doctor of the Ministry of Defense and 11 members of an armed group were killed during the special operation at Lopota ravine. In addition 5 officers were wounded while trying detaining the six saboteurs during the anti-terrorist operation carried out by the MIA on August 29. |
