One more employ of the Gldani N8 prison has been arrested with the charges of prisoners` torture and abuse - prosecutor Shota Tkeshelashvili announced at the briefing today. He said Mamuka Chkhitunidze was the controller of the prison and he will face charges according to the article 144 - torture and inhumane treatment. Shota Tkeshelashvili said, currently law enforcers have arrested 12 persons with similar charges and interrogated former and current employs of the penitentiary department. He said the investigation is in progress and the society will be informed about new facts revealed and measures carried out eventually.
