One of the leaders of the Georgian Dream opposition political party Irakli Alasania has accused the government of Georgia of intentionally putting the explosive device outside the prosecutor`s office in the town of Zugdidi having coincided it with his visit to the town.
"With the experience the head of the Constitutional Department has; the experience exists in Samegrelo and other regions of Georgia... when public figures used to put mines at some places later finding them and accusing others of attempted explosions. The same happened today - they have coincided it with the day of my arrival here, but as you have already seen neither of the bombs, which is put and found, can never stop the aspiration to freedom", Mr. Alasania said at the meeting with locals in Zugdidi. Representatives of other opposition political parties responded to the accusations by the Georgian Dream member.
"I can see the chain starting from teh statements concerning some attempts to turn Zugdidi into Homs (Syria) to the accident that took place today - all this is one ring of one action and one chain. This is in Russia`s interests and whether Alasania is a part of this Russian game or not, it`s his own problem. Anyway, it`s a fact that his statements greatly assist to all this", Bachuki Kardava, the head of the National Democratic Party said.
"This is a very serious, very sensitive issue and I call all of them - representatives of the opposition as well as the government and particular politicians - let`s think over it, weight it precisely until we make any statements", Manana Nachkebia, member of the New Rights opposition party said.
