Georgia will make a statement about hosting EURO 2020 football championship independently after Azerbaijan has refused to submit a corresponding statement jointly with Georgia as it was proposed earlier. Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs of Georgia, Vladimer Vardzelashvili briefed in this regards today. He said the Azerbaijan`s government will work for hosting Olympic Games and Georgia will try to become the host of the Euro 2020 independently. Currently, Turkey is the only country to has submitted relevant application at the UEFA. `We voiced our joint decision to make a joint application; it was the idea of Azerbaijan. It should be noted that Azerbaijan has already submitted a statement about hosting Olympic Games, therefore, we shall work independently to be granted the authority to host 2020 European Football Championship,` Vladimer Vardzelashvili said.
