Georgian delegation attended Sokar reception in Davos

Georgian delegation was invited to the special reception held by the Sokar Oil Company within the World Economic Forum in Davos on Thursday. One of the topical issues of discussion at the event was the projects planned and implemented by the oil giant in Georgia. The company president Rovnag Abdulaev emphasized the cooperation with Georgian government and its work in the country. `Our company has close cooperation with Georgia. Along with other successful projects, within the first phase of the Nabucco project (a new gas bridge from Asia to Europe and the flagship project in the Southern Corridor), we`ll supply gas to Turkey via Georgia. This will increase the volume of transit on Georgian territory,` Sokar President said. At the end of the meeting, Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri also delivered a speech hailing Georgia`s cooperation with the company.
Georgia`s Black Sea resort of Kobuleti is getting prepared for the summer tourist season. The resort will soon have a refurbished park. Construction and rehabilitation of 6 objects simultaneously, including an artist`s house, an amphitheatre and tennis courts is underway in the park.
Vladimer Ugulava was appointed today a compulsory manage of Cartu Group Company. The decision was adopted by Tbilisi City Court. Mr. Ugulava has already assumed the new office.

U.S. Logistics Department is allowed by the amendments made to the legislation to purchase various products from Georgia. The issues were discussed at the symposium held by the Georgian government and the Logistics Department of the U.S. Defense Ministry in Tbilisi today.
The U.S. National Democratic Institute (NDI) has published results of the survey of public opninion. The survey was carried out from 4-22 June, 2012. It shows the attitudes of people of Georgia to democracy, reforms, external and internal issues.
Georgia`s Shida Kartli Region has a new governor. Sulkhan Sibashvili has replaced Giorgi Tatishvili at the position. The new governor was introduced by the head of teh president`s administration at the regional administration in the town of Gori today.
Georgian Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili accepted Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov today. At the meeting, issues of bilateral cooperation between teh two countries were discussed.
