Four Georgian sailors, who were left without attention on the board of the ship abandoned in the Cartagena naval station, Spain, will return to Georgia soon. The sailors were taken on board with different terms, but were not paid after they tried to clarify the employment terms with the ship owner company. They have not been paid their salaries for past eight months.
Georgian naval administration is already holding negotiations with the ship owner company on covering salary arrears and arranging transportation of the sailors to Georgia.
Deputy Minister of economic development of Georgia, Giorgi Karbelashvili said in the telephone interview with Rustavi2 that Georgian government would cover the travel costs from Cartagena to Batumi port. Karbelashvili is already in the Spanish port holding negotiations with Spanish colleagues.
