15.05.12 16:54
President`s press speaker Manana Manjgaladze summed up last weeks events at the traditional briefing today. She expressed condolences to the families of the victims, who died in the Saturday`s flood in Tbilisi on behalf of the president and spoke about the works, which are underway to eliminate the damage inflicted to the capital by the disaster. Manjgaladze also reported the details of the president`s ongoing visit to the United States and spoke about the goals of the Computer Literacy Society, which was founded in Georgia last week. Computer Literacy Society aims at spreading computer and modern technology skills among the residents of Georgia`s all regions. `Today a competition was opened. At the first stage of the contest, three hundred villages were selected and any person with secondary education certificates can participate in it. Candidates will be selected by the open competition and they will take professional trainings and practice for free. They will be also presented with computers and all necessary equipment and enjoy free technical support during a year. Afterwards, these people will offer various consultations to the residents of Georgia`s regions,` Manjgaladze said.
