President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili opened two new hotels in Batumi today. Both hotels are situated in the central district of the seaside resort and offers high quality service to its visitors. These projects were implemented with Georgian and foreign investments of ten million GEL. Over 100 citizens were employed at the hotels. President viewed the rooms of the hotel and a sight from one of the rooms. He hailed the rapid development of Batumi, growth of tourists and new jobs for locals. He said the difference between old and current Batumi is very clear. President said the request on hotels is growing along with the growth of the number of tourists in the region.
Minister of Defence of Georgia Irakli Alasania visited IV Infantry Brigade in Vaziani today. The three soldiers, who were killed in a terror exlposion in Afghanistan on Monday, served in 42nd Battalion of this Brigade. The military held a moment of silence in respect of the memory of Georgian heroes.
National flag of Georgia was lowered at Georgia`s office of the Council of Europe on the day, when the nation mourns the death of three Georgian soldiers in Afghanistan. Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze attended the ceremony.
