Chamber of Control sequestrates accounts of charity fund

Chamber of Control of Georgia sequestrated accounts of Komagi Charity Fund today. The fund established few days ago was wrapped in scandal after leaders of the Georgian Dream opposition political party said they would pay Gel 1500-5000 to the persons fired form the fund for political reasons.
Some NGOs expressed their concerns over the statements saying they might be considered as bribing voters.
The statement released by teh Chamber of Control says EUR 90 thousand were transferred to teh account of the fund by Bidzina Giorgobiani the foreign secretary of the Conservative Party and member of the Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia. The transactions have also been sequestrated as it resists the legislation of the country.
The Chamber of Control intends to study the financial activities of the fund.
Reportedly, president`s administration has a new chief - former governor of the Shida Kartli Region, Andro Barnovi will replace Davit Tkeshelashvili, who has arguably left this position as he is going to the United States.
Political council of the Georgian Dream ruling party will discuss the behavior of the majority MP Koba Davitashvili after Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili returns from Strasburg. Ivanishvili is participating in the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Most of the bookstores have decided to be closed on the World Book Day in protest to the decision of the Education Ministry, which plans to give school text-books to pupils for free.
