Government begins distribution of electricity vouchers

Government of Georgia will issue and distribute electricity vouchers for over 1,200,000 subscribers of Georgia - Prime Minister Nika Gilauri announced at the briefing held at the Governmenty`s Chancellery today.
Prime Minister said cold winter and hard climate environment brought many problems to Georgian citizens, consumption of electricity increased as well as the expenditures. Considering these factors, the government of Georgia prepared a special program of vouchers.
Distribution of 20 GEL vouchers will begin this week and the Social Service Agency of the Ministry of Health and Social Care will be responsible for the process. 25 million GEL has been allocated from the state budget for this social program.
Prime Minister has sent official document to the president to confirm the candidacy of Shalva Pipia as the minister of agriculture. The previous minister resigned from his position due to a scandal of machinations revealed in the ministry, which ended in detention of several employs.
