MIA publishes visitor statistics

The number of visitors to Georgia is increasing - the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has published the statistics of the first four years of the year, according to which number of visitors to the country in April 2012 is 61% higher than in the same period last year. As for the data of the first four years, the number of visitors has increased with 45% in comparison with 2011.
Most of the visitors these four months were from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Russia, Ukraine and Iran. Significant growth of the number of visitors from EU member states was also registered, exceeding the number of visitors from Ukraine and Iran. It should be noted, that the visitors from Moldova and Austria has increased with 73% and 83% in the aforementioned period.
The number of visitors from the Russian Federation has also increased after the government of Georgia lifted with regime for Russian citizens unilaterally. Most of the visitors from Russia travelled to Georgia by crossing Larsi customs.
