Bagrati Temple remains in UNESCO list
Minister of Culture of Georgia, Nikoloz Rurua announced at a special briefing today that the Bagrati Temple would not be removed from the list of the cultural heritage of UNESCO, as it was presumed earlier. The decision was taken by the UNESCO world heritage committee at today`s session, which was held in Petersburg today.
`A few hours ago, the session of the UNESCO committee took a decision that Bagrati Temple would not be removed from the list of the cultural heritage, as I promised you earlier and the role of Georgian diplomacy in this decision is very serious. Today, it has been decided that Bagrati will see the day light and regain the brilliance, which it deserves and Georgian church is unanimous with the state of Georgia around the issue,` Nikoloz Rurua said.
