Shota Rustaveli bas-relief unveiled in Riga, Latvia

President of Georgia along with the Latvian Culture Minister unveiled a bas-relief of Shota Rustaveli, the greatest poet of the 12th century in Riga today.
Mikheil Saakashvili said at the ceremony that a memorial to the greatest poet should be in all the countries, Georgia has diplomatic relations with.
"This is a very nice gesture from the Latvian government and society. Rustaveli is Georgia for us and as Georgian embassies are everywhere, Rustaveli should also be everywhere where Georgia is presented", he said.
Georgian Orthodox Church marks the day of King Davit Aghmashenebeli on February 8. Holy services are held in every acting churches of the country. Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia will conduct the service dedicated to this day at the Holy Trinity cathedral.
