Breivik`s trial held in Oslo court

16.04.12 18:00

Anders Behring Breivik, a right-wing extremist accused in Norway’s worst ever mass murder, admitted Monday to killing 77 people in two targeted attacks last July. But Breivik rejected criminal responsibility for his acts, claiming he slaughtered his victims in self defence.

The case has been already called the Century Trial. 33 year-old Breivik is being tried for terrorism, which killed 77 people in Oslo shooting and terror attack no the youth camp on Utoya Island.

Anders Behring Breivik, dressed in a dark suit, smiled as a guard removed his handcuffs in the crowded court room. The 33-year-old then flashed a closed-fist salute, before shaking hands with prosecutors and court officials.

In his first comments at the court Breivik said he did not recognize Norwegian courts because you get your mandate from the Norwegian political parties who support multiculturalism.
Chief prosecutor said the Knights Templar organization, which Breivik claims to be the member of, does not exist at all. 50 minutes after the proceeding began; the judge announced the names of all victims of Norway shooting - Georgian girl, Tamta Liparteliani was among the mentioned.
Another Georgian girl Natia Chkhetiani, who survived in the horror attack, plans to attend the proceeding too. She is in Norway currently, where she studies. Father of the killed girl Avto Liparteliani will also attend the proceeding, where the murder case of his daughter will be discussed. Liparteliani says he is waiting to receive tickets from Norway government. Avto Lipartelini plans to demand life sentence for Breivik.
