4.9 magnitude aftershock recorded in Georgia`s Eastern part

A 4.9 magnitude aftershock has been recorded in the town of Dedopllistskaro of Kakheti Region in Eastern Georgia.
As reported the epicenter of the repeated quake was located on the territory of Azerbaijan again. Seismologists said aftershocks are quite natural after the strong quake although they become weaker and do not represent threat for the people.
The magnitude 5.7 earthquake hit Georgia`s eastern districts at 08:40 a.m. on Monday. The quake`s epicenter was located in Azerbaijan, some 40 kilometers from the border of Georgia.
The tremor was most felt in the town of Dedoplistskaro located close to the border of Azerbaijan and 155 kilometers to the east of the capital city Tbilisi. Several weaker aftershocks followed teh major quake.
No damage or injuries were reported. Although cracks appeared on the houses being under threat of collapse in the villages of Dedoplistskaro district.
The tremor was felt in Tbilisi as well, where walls in apartments cracked in Bukhaidze and Metekhi Streets in teh old district of the city.
