CDM works on constitutional amendments

Christian Democratic Movement of Georgia plans to launch campaign aiming at saving national and traditional values by constitutional amendments. Giorgi Targamadze, the leader of the party said today the draft amendments to the constitution, they are working on, was initiated after the Easter Epistle of Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II.

Targamadze said at the briefing today that the issues, on which His Holiness focused in the Easter Epistle, should be considered by Georgian society and politicians. Targamadze highlighted the following issues - liberalization of law, growth of maternity leave period, improvement of health care service for convicts, improvement of health care system and reduction of unemployment.

Parliamentary minority leader said the CDM had already prepared the draft amendments to the constitution, which would be introduced to lawmakers soon.
