Minister of Defense of Georgia has suspended the official visit to Brussels, where he was attending NATO Defense Ministerial and left for Afghanistan after the death of seven Georgian soldiers in Helmand Province yesterday. 
According to the operative information from Afghanistan, security measures are on high alert on the military base attacked by the insurgents. Georgian Troops are fully controlling the operational situation in their area of responsibility.
Georgia mourns the death of its soldiers in Afghanistan - seven Georgian military servicemen were killed as a result of explosion in Afghanistan today. All of them were the soldiers of the 42nd Light Infantry Battalion of the IV Infantry Brigade who had been serving in Afghanistan since April, 2013.
European lawmakers have released an official statement after the visit to Georgia on June 3.4. MEPs recognised progress in some areas but also expressed concerns.
