
Rustavi 2 airs from Tbilisi since 1996. In 2003 the company has won General Broadcasting tender on airing in the territory
of whole Georgia announced by Georgian Communications National Committee.
Rustavi 2 got the right to work in the entire country.
In order to provide high quality signal and enlarge coverage area
Rustavi 2 began renewing terrestrial transmitters in different regions. Installation of the new equipment and repair works
on the most of TV towers are finished already. At this stage 85% of Georgian population can receive analog TV signal:
- 37 transmitters owned by Rustavi 2 company (with Rohde & Schwarz, Kvant-Efir and Tera’s production equipment)
are located around Georgia: 28 of which work at a rates around 250-5000 watts, the last 9 operate at low capacity.
- Rustavi 2 closely cooperates with local cable and broadcasting companies in mountainous regions of the country where
the signal received from our transmitters is unstable
- Company has set agreements with almost every cable company
In the nearest future Rustavi 2 plans to renew equipment in the following regions: Dedoplistskaro, Dmanisi, Tsalka,
Akhaltsikhe, Akhalkalaki and others. |
